Women Changing Dentistry: Vanessa Arévalo

Fourth interview in the series “Women Changing Dentistry,” in which Oliver Goetzendorff speaks with Vanessa Arévalo, a marketing specialist whose passion is delivering services that make a difference.

Vanessa, María Fernanda, Luz Mary, and Bibiana are the first four entrepreneurs interviewed for the “Women Changing Dentistry” series.

Vanessa Arévalo: A Conviction for Innovation

Born in Bogotá, Vanessa Arévalo began working at a very young age. At 17, she worked as a nanny before transitioning into the financial sector. Although she always had her family’s support, her journey was far from easy. She worked to fund her education, driven by a strong desire to overcome obstacles and explore new opportunities.

Thanks to a relative, she took her first steps into the dental industry. At the time, she didn’t yet hold a professional degree, but her determination led her to learn independently and actively pursue new paths. During her visits to clients, she met key individuals who helped shape her career and supported her growth. She is especially grateful for her experience in customer service, where she gained essential tools for her professional development.

Over time, Vanessa worked with various companies in the dental field, specializing in sales and technical roles. She developed skills in training, institutional relations, and educational strategies. She experienced the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic firsthand but used that time to consolidate her knowledge and continue growing. In one of her most significant roles, she led key business relationships, collaborated on institutional alliances, and was part of teams that helped her become a more well-rounded professional.

Today, she looks back on her journey with pride. She believes she has left her mark and that every step - even the most difficult ones - has contributed to her evolution. She has a deep faith in God and believes that everything happens for a reason.

I firmly believe that serving with purpose through empathy and knowledge is a way to transform dentistry.

    Contribution to dentistry

“From my role as a woman and marketing professional with experience in the dental sector, I contribute from a place of deep love for what I do and a passion for service,” says Vanessa Arévalo. “My commitment is born from the conviction that every innovation, every tool, every product truly matters when it reaches the hands of professionals who make a difference.”

“What drives me is being that bridge between the industry and dental practices - transforming solutions into real opportunities, delivering empowering education, and building relationships that leave a lasting impact,” she continues.

“I firmly believe that serving with purpose - through empathy and knowledge - is a way to transform dentistry. And that’s what I strive to do every day: to contribute, to inspire, and to bring real value to a field that taught me to admire the power of a smile and the profound impact it can have on people’s lives,” she concludes.

For Vanessa Arévalo, changing dentistry means learning to adapt, contributing positively, and moving forward with faith and determination - even when the path ahead is uncertain.
